Ox3 Production
I worked for Ox3 Production, a media production company focused on documentaries related to finance, technology and social issues in the United States. At Ox3 Production, I was the producer, videographer, and editor of two web series: Startups Made in the USA and Yijia’s Time. Startups addresses the latest technology trends and American entrepreneurship. Both of the shows were received with tremendous popular acclaim on China’s major web channel.
Startup Made in the USA
The series features behind-the-scenes stories of entrepreneurs and their innovations.
With the CEOs and other thought leaders at 100 companies having told the story of what sparked the idea that led to their success and how that idea turned into a thriving enterprise, many of them part of today’s long list of digital “household name” , the series has, to date, accumulated more than 150 million views online.
Yijie’s Time
Jointly produced with Chinese internet giant Tencent, this in-depth doc-series examines the latest trending topics, with some of the most recent and widely-listened-to episodes covering such hot topic as gun control, food safety and the US presidential election.
Yijia’s Time
I have been a huge soccer fan since I was a child. While producing this episode, I was be able to conduct the research about MLS (Major League Soccer), interview the CEO of MLS, and follow one of the best teams, New York City Football Club. I not only got a chance to interview some of best soccer players in the world to understand how international players impact the popularity of soccer in America, but I also got to know how MLS is helping youths to get involved in the sports they love from different countries. It was a life-changing experience for me because I finally understood that soccer is not just a commercial sport but a universal event that brings different people from different communities together.
Behind the scenes
In Ox3 Production, I participated in different roles in the production process and was able to learn virtually all aspects of documentary filmmaking. I was the producer, videographer, and editor of these two web series.
I was able to travel around the States to interview different startup companies, such as a Boston based Chinese startup called Modelo, which builds tools for architects.
I also had the good fortune of interviewing the entrepreneur and AirBnb investor, David Rose. Through this experience, I learned a lot about how a company is built and different entrepreneurial stories.
